Wrong spirit to call yourself a surf club. We came to the beach walking from the road. After the surf session we went to the restaurant and they did not attend people 'from the beach'. The place was almost empty. Also rejected to sell us food to take away. Pretentious and disappointing.

The food is very good at all the beach clubs in Punta Mita, but the food at El Surf Club is amazing. The food is worthy of a Michelin star. El Surf club is the epitome of casual beach chic. It is a beautiful setting, with great food and service. Go for lunch, dinner or the whole day. It is also a great surf location.

Idk why people are complaining that it’s for members only. Members pay money for that, so they get the treatment. Why would they attend to people who come from outside. But overall the food quality went down and every time we come- there is no music. Became depressing. And also please don’t put French fries and eggplant to fried calamari dish

Called 7-8 times for a reservation, no answer or voicemail. Drove 30 minutes, walked in from the main gate and on arrival at the beach club was denied access to the beach area and restaraunt being told that the "beach club" is for owners and their guests only. That's fine but no signage anywhere, no mention on the website and no indication this is for members only. Very frustrating / illogical. I'm assuming this is not in writing anywhere because privatization of said areas is illegal in mexico. Saw some people's food arriving, looked awful anyway.

El surf club was our best lunch and beach experience! Israel was our host and he is hilarious and accommodating. We will be back.

Good surf and a public beach but this venue is for star-bellies only! Sadly another elitist 'residents only' enclave designed to keep the undesirable, untouchables out. Neocolonialism at its best.

Horrible. The hotel owners and corporate property owners have privatized the beach and made it nearly impossible for locals and surfers to access La Lancha beach. My neighbor tells me years ago the beach would be full of local families in the dry season (December). Now we had to walk 25+ minutes through extreme mud to arrive at this beach. I asked the security guards if visitors can rent a beach chair, rent a board, or order drinks from the club? They said, "Absolutely not, this is private property only." Absurd. "Federal law in Mexico states the public cannot be denied access to a space 20 meters inland from the high tide line, but some businesses mark off exclusive areas almost up to the water’s edge." On September 19, 2020 Mexico’s Senate voted to levy fines of up to $47,000 USD against hotels, restaurants and/or other property owners who restrict and/or deny access to the country’s beaches. I hope El Surf Club and the Four Seasons in Mita (who have an agreement to use this area as well) somehow have their day in court. Guests here should feel guilty for supporting poor ecological and awful neocolonial practices like the operation of this beach club.

Best surf beach, amazing eats, and wonderful sunset views. Service was incredibly good, really friendly staff. Definitely recommend the ceviche and the passion fruit drinks ?
