★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Captain Enrique or kiki for short is handsdown the best fishing charter experience in Riviera Maya. His local knowledge combined with his high level of professionalism, combine for a fantastic morning on the water. I have fished with kiki many times and never come home empty handed. Even caught my first Sail Fish while on a charter with him. FISHING PLAYA DEL CARMEN - 5 STARS.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Didn’t enjoy my fishing trip! We weren’t able to catch a single fish. This isn’t what bothered me however what bothered me was that it seemed like the Captain didn’t care about how the fishing went as long as he got his money. We trolled for a total of 4 hours without getting a single hook up. A well experienced captain wouldn’t have tried only one method of fishing for the whole charter. Because after all the point of the charter is to catch fish and if one method isn’t working you should switch it up and attempt something else. To conclude the experience was extremely overpriced for the amount of fishing that really went on. I would never pay $300 to fish at this charter again. As an avid angler, I would suggest to the captain that he should have a backup plan in case his usual plan doesn’t work. And he should be ready to deliver his best at all times. Not just be lazy about it and just troll and hope for the best. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Wouldn’t fish here again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fishing Playa del Carmen was a great choice for a full day fishing excursion. Captain Kiki was great at communicating with us prior to and after the fishing day. We knew exactly what to expect, bring, where to be, etc. His associate picked us up promptly from our resort as communicated. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and fluent in English. At first, fish were not biting, however, Kiki and his crew demonstrated all their techniques, bait & lures and sheer local know-how. They worked hard to make sure we had a great time and everyone was able to reel in fish. They provided a home-made Mexican snack which was delicious, soft drinks were also on board. We took back a 2 large fillets of mahi-mahi for our dinner. We also landed and released a trophy sailfish, many barracuda and 2 jacks. We had a relaxing and fun day with the crew. I would highly recommend this tour company if you are in the area and want to enjoy a day of fishing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This not a review for services…it’s a review for honesty.
I contacted Capt KIki about a trip while on vacation in Playa del Carmen. I specifically wanted to target mahi and sails. Capt told me the fishing was slow period for any species and I had almost no chance of catching my target. Most other places down here will try to tell you the fishing is always good just so they can get you on the boat and take your money. No charter can guarantee you a full stringer, but these guys really cared about my experience. They would rather tell me no than take my money knowing I would not be happy. I can’t wait to come back in the summer time and book a trip with them. Maybe get the billfish hat trick!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kiki responded promptly to our inquiry about deep sea fishing. We booked our trip for the 1st full day we spent in Playa del Carmen. When telling the Captain we did not drink alcohol he substituted Coca Cola light (my coffee) and extra bottled water. Kiki's knowledge and experience of the area was impressive. It was a tough morning trolling. Captain Kiki suggested switching to another method. We told him we would prefer not to and to keep deep sea fishing. He was respectful of our decision. When we got to where we would turn around we anchored briefly. We saw tropical fish and fed them. We watched stingrays swim. We refreshed in a cenote and picked cocunuts from the jungle. Kikis crewmember cut the cocunut open for us to drink as we trolled back. Saving the best for last, my husband did reel in a barracuda. We had the fish cooked 3 different ways at the beach club near marina and continued to have great guidance. THANK YOU for our memorable experience. We will fish together again Amigo!
