We have stayed here a few times and overall had a good experience. A drawback is that the hotel does NOT include breakfast but you can can use the local restaurant which offers breakfast buffett for $10 USD each.

The staff here is top level. While travel can be challenging in a pandemic, they provided excellent service. My staff member and I needed COVID testing to return to the US and they helped us arrange it, giving us multiple options. We chose to have the testing done on site at the hotel and the front desk booked it for us, helped us with translating when the test was being done and helped us follow up with the clinic later. Everyone at the front desk was fluent in English. They were friendly, cheery and supportive. The restaurant staff was great, the food was good and the cleanliness level hospital grade. This hotel worked hard to earn our repeat business and they will get it.

OK so let me say this..... I'm theory this hotel would have been so awesome like 15yrs ago. Lol.. but in 2022......uhhh it needs some updates. The design of this place is very interesting but it's so old and not taken care of. Now I'm not saying things weren't clean and fresh. Like the floors and the beds were good. It's just you can tell everything was not taken care of the best. Furniture was old and looked very used. Does look like they could use polishing. Floors needed buffing. Bathroom colors were a lot! Dents were in the walls. My thing that I hated the most was the towels. Hotel towels should be soft and fluffy. These towels look like they could have been that 15yrs ago. They were clean but very used looking. Ohhhhh forgot the shower heads! Old old old!. I couldn't get it work right. The pull buttons to go from shower to water faucet were rusted and very hard 2 use. The shower and faucet were on the whole time. The shower had was rusted and needed cleaning! But in theory the hotel location is very nice just needs better upkeep. It's close to the arena and the really nice park. Not trying to be 2 picky but those were just a few things.

On my arrival trying to check in the staff was not friendly/welcoming at all. Miguel did my check in, my view was horrible, there was no safe box and the phone wasn’t working so I had to go back to Miguel to let him know, I requested another room with a better view, even if I had to pay extra . He seem careless and did not even apologized. He just said to come back tomorrow morning. We went to the restaurant ate there (staff in here was very friendly)and then we were on our way for a walk when someone was chasing us asking us for our names, room num, etc. We asked him what was the issue he said Miguel said you are not staying here and you just left a car in the parking area. We were very surprised because by this time he knows us already, we have been interacting when checking in, the complaint and he saw us at the bar having some drinks too. We had no car, he knew we were foreigners because of my ID. The most upsetting part is that when he saw us coming to the front desk he ran and hid all the time we were talking with Samantha about all these issues. Samantha was more friendly and nice.We went back to our room to drop off some stuff the phone was still not working no safe box yet either. After our walk at Paseo Santa Lucía, Samantha took care of the phone and the safe box. The next morning I went to the front desk again with the view issue requesting another room and the same answer was giving to check with them again later on. They never changed my room which it was upsetting because of the amount of money we paid they should of have accommodated us or at least seem like they were trying. Then we needed ice and the ice machine was on the 4th floor but with our card it will not give us access to the 4th floor, causing another inconvenience. Then the card was deactivated one day before our check out date. Again it was an inconvenience after an inconvenience and nobody seem to care I requested to speak with the person in charge because at this point I am very irritated and they told me she wasn’t available they just told me her name was Lucia Bautista. Miguel shouldn’t even be working there I passed by the front desk several times the phones were ringing and he was just sitting there not caring at all, letting the phones ring. He seemed like he had a personal issue towards us since day one. He should be sent to a customer service training. His position it’s all about hospitality and he doesn’t have it at all. For the area and the type of hotel you expect an excellent service. Also seems like they haven’t been giving the hotel a good maintenance/attention to detail, balcony was filthy, the toilet you will have to press the flush for around 10 seconds in order to flush it, very outdated facility and rooms. No fridge no microwave. I will definitely not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. The only good experience was at the restaurant the staff was very friendly and made you feel welcome. They were very fast with your requests.

Terrible access from parking to hotel lobby. Old hotel, old rooms, smell to old. I am very surprised Holiday Inn still manage such old hotel concept. You really need to do better.

Service is extremely slow to check in. You need to modernized and make a better experience for your guests. The building is so . Room looks old. Everything old. But the worst the staff are rud and don't know how to treat guests

Holiday Inn is missing out on a great opportunity with this hotel. It is in a prime location with an amazing park attached that hosts many big events. There is also a conference/event center next door. The hotel is very dated and is in need of many renovations and updates. There is a very nice outdoor pool, sadly, the patio is cracked and falling apart. There is a lovely tennis court, but that is also in need of repair. The beds, bedding, towels, etc are all worn out and in need of a refresh. Again, the location is perfect, but the hotel is sad and tired :(

Arrived May 1 and was about 7th in line to check-in. It took about 50 minutes to check-in. There was only one receptionist at the front desk working to check in guests. When I asked for a manager, I was told there was no manager on duty. Finally, I was checked in and went to my room. I decided to call room service for dinner but no one answered the phone at the restaurant. So I got dressed again and went to place my order for room delivery. I told the cashier about the no one answering the phone and was given the "we'll check into it" answer. You bet your life there was nothing going to be done about it -- you just got the sense that they didn't care. The food arrived and was marginal. The next day for breakfast brought the same abysmal level of service. No one to seat you. No one to take your order. No one to care. When I did get up to chase someone down, the young lady said she'd be right there. She never came over, however I did get the attention of a waiter who took my order. The food again was marginal. I'm a Spire Elite Member since 1993. This HI needs to be sold to a Best West or some other franchise. I was to stay for 5 nights. I left after one night. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express right across the street. I had a much better experience there. Folks, save your money. Stay someplace else.
