Hotel La Semilla - 77720 Playa del Carmen

Pros: Truly BEAUTIFUL common area. Polite staff. Great location. Cons: The beds are old and uncomfortable. The toilet kept getting plugged almost always(we never put toilet paper in the toilet). Conclusion: If you want confort this is not for you. If you want to stay in a pretty hotel, stay here.

Amazing small boutique hotel in an great location, the style and the decorations are incredible, delicious organic Mexican breakfast, friendly staff and 3 minutes walk to the beach - in the very center but still relatively quiet - we would have loved a more proactive staff into suggesting us things to do with local knowledge.

A wonderful and therapeutic stay! The hotel aesthetic is tasteful and calming. Disclaimer - being a three-star hotel, it doesn’t provide the luxury amenities you would expect at a five-star place. E.g., they only provide body wash, shampoo, and conditioner and no lotion or hand wash. However to me it provided all the essentials. In a way it felt minimalist and helped me relax. If you’re looking for a peaceful gem tucked away on Playa del Carmen, hotel la semilla is for you. I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful gardens and rooftop. I read some complaints about how the staff also chill in the common area. To me it really isn’t bothering as everyone was respectful of each other’s boundaries. I felt welcomed but got to enjoy my own peace and quiet. My one complaint though is the noise from the night clubs on the same street, but I guess it’s Playa del Carmen. What else can I expect.

We loved this hotel. The location was great, our room was perfect, the breakfast was great and we took advantage of the free parking which is right in front of the hotel. It may not be as flashy as other hotels, however it is exactly what we wanted.

Great room, awesome terrace, tasty breakfast, tea and coffee available in terrace zone. Great location, close to the beach and good restaurants. No fridge in the room, a bit noisy - it is possible to hear stairs and corridor sounds and street sounds

Very cozy and quiet hotel in the middle of Playa del Carme. Perfect location just of the 5th Avenue, very close to the beach and restaurants. The rooms have a very nice rustic charm and are very cozy and clean. The hotel gives you a feeling that you are in the middle of a jungle. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very helpful and welcoming. I would stay there again.

Stayed for 8 nights at the end of March. Unbeatable location, excellent breakfast (although it finishes early) & we loved Juan on the front desk who sorted taxis for us almost daily. The room was spacious enough & clean (top floor with the outdoor tub, which we didn't use). Shower water pressure was great & nice to have a separate room for the toilet with windows that open. The room next door also had a terrace (no tub) but had a toilet inside the bathroom. The restaurant next door was a little noisy but not super late. Thank goodness for the air conditioning even in March! There was a safe in the room but it was broken. Would happily recommend this hotel & would stay here again if coming back to Playa.

This is probably one of the cutest hotel in the town of Playa del Carmen. The room was lovely, although the bed/sheets and pillows could have been better. Same for the bathroom, it’s a bit old but it is clean. The decoration is adorable, lots of plants and Old authentic objects. The breakfast was a really pleasant moment, generous , fresh, best coffee from our trip !! Staff was also very nice, they organized our transfer from the airport and it all went very well. You are less than 5 minutes walking for the public beach, surrounded by bars and restaurants . It’s perfect for a night or 2.
