Hotel Punta Caliza - 77310 Isla Holbox

The food is incredible, the location is perfect, and the staff was amazing. They helped arrange transportation and took care of everything. Their beach club is perfect and we enjoyed sipping margaritas on the beach. I almost don’t want to recommend it so we can keep it to ourselves! :) It was paradise and we wish we stayed longer!

Really beautiful hotel with excellent service. Special mention to Alex who was charming, gave great advice and has a great sense of humour! He made our stay all the better. Would recommend a beautiful massage on top of the tower. Beach club makes a great michelada. Overall couldn’t have asked for much more.

The property is very nice. Decent food , nice service. Great location at a 5 min walk to the beach club. However, and this is a huge problem for me and my wife, they dont heat the pool. They have this beautiful pool that can be accessed directly from your room but its just a big bucket of ice water. Its a huge waste in my opinion and a big no no in terms of guest service. I hope they make the investment to add some solar heating at least because this time of the year it is very very cold. Also, if youre a fan of long showers, forget it. Hot water lasts for 5 minutes tops. And for the price tag I expect a heated pool and a hot shower that lasts more than 5 minutes.

We had such a wonderful time at Punta Caliza. The design is beautiful and has an organic and earthy feel and the location is quiet but close to everything. With that said, the real gem is the staff - particularly Alex and Axel. They truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, happy, and taken care of. It really feels like a warm and welcoming family. We would highly recommended Punta Caliza, lovely and special place.

We booked entirely based off of their Instagram so there were some very high expectations. Overall it was nice. The staff were so kind and helpful. The room was well designed, had great ac, and looked like the photos, although it could get noisy due to how the rooms were set up. The pool was visually beautiful, but the private plunge pool was full of debris. It felt like things were under construction with minimal staffing. The wifi couldn’t support teleworking, which my husband found frustrating. My biggest disappointment was that we were never explicitly told how to access the beach club. It’s a five minute walk away from town and we didn’t find it till the last day because we assumed the closest beach was it. From the ratings, it sounds like we really missed out and ended up paying a LOT of money and time wandering around to rent chairs on the beach. So make sure you ask for directions to the beach! We loved, loved Holbox and will be returning. However, there are so many other places with better location and many more amenities, we probably won’t be returning to hotel Punta Caliza. With that said, all my interactions with the staff were really wonderful and I appreciated their kindness during our stay.

A beautiful, well designed, boutique hotel. Alex, Lou, Diego and the entire staff are genuinely good people that were extremely accommodating. The beach club is relaxing and in a great location. Food is great. The welcome mezcal margarita takes the edge off a long day of travel. Check out the tower at sunrise/sunset. We'll definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay here! Very friendly and helpful staff and great food. They have a nice reserved area on the beach for guests and provide free breakfast. The pool is not heated, so expect cold water (although still refreshing) depending on the time of the year.

If I could give 10 stars, I would - this was one of the most amazing places I have ever stayed. From the delicious welcome margarita, the included breakfast that was incredibly delicious, and the wonderful comfortable rooms. But what really made this place special were the people - especially Aldo from the front desk and Eduardo behind the bar, who went above and beyond to provide advice, fantastic service, and fun late-night conversations at the bar. I will definitely come back, my expectations were exceeded constantly. Thank you Punta Caliza!
