We had a (too) short but amazing time! We received a warm welcome that made us feel at home. First experience sleeping in a yurt and definitely worth it. The place is decorated with taste and every little details makes a difference: wicker seats, hammock, homemade ceramics, fresh squeezed lemon juice, fresh fruits every morning & good music! Lalo and the rest of the team are super friendly and ready to help. Won’t forget it!

Staying at Huaya Camp was a wonderful experience. My husband and I took the Ado bus to Tulum from Playa (about $50 MXN one way each) for the weekend and we're so glad we did. This was our first experience staying in a yurt and we loved it! The outdoor shower was awesome and they provide shampoo and soap that smell wonderful. The Huaya Camp grounds are well maintained and very welcoming. The staff were amazing...super helpful, kind, and easy to communicate with. Kevin even gave us his number in case we got lost on our travels around town. Highly recommend! We're looking forward to out next trip to Tulum and staying at Huaya again.

We walked downtown Tulum and came upon this little gem of a place and were greeted by the most kind man who just opened the place, Lalo. It is an eco friendly lodging option in downtown Tulum - providing beautiful yurts, yoga sessions, and delicious food to nourish your body and fuel your soul. Great budget friendly option. Think luxury glamping...this place has all the necessities to be comfortable (even A.C for the evening) but utilizes the surroundings to engage harmoniously with our planet. Ever wanted to have a private outdoor shower that just screamed rustic chic? Well, here’s your chance without having to break your bank.

Terrible foggy tents - extremely overprised. The “manager” admitted he has hired an Indian company to boost his google rating. A friend of me was robbed by the hotel and charged 450$ for two nights - and actually threatened her phisycally after she complained on the wrong amount being taken from her Visa-card. If you want to get robbed and threatened - it is definitely worth a visit. You can find Huaya camp behind “Potheads”, owned by the same guy. Streetnoise is terrible and the insects have free acces to your tent. I envy people who have never stayed at Huaya Camp.

Loved my stay! The tents are clean and cozy and the staff is really welcoming. Would also highly recommend taking a massage! It was one of the best massages I ever had!

The camp itself is beautiful, the tents are situated under tree canopies and stylishly furnished... But do consider if you want to sleep in a tent in the center of a city in Mexico. There was music blasting from some nearby event until 4 am, then we only managed to fall asleep for about two hours when the cars started piling up and honking on the adjacent main road again.

Very charming and tranquil upon check in. Nice grounds and pool. After dinner and exploring all day we were ready for a good night sleep, but the dance club started up next door around 8:30 PM... Hard to fall asleep with pounding house music. The street noise starts up again around 6:00 AM. The full size beds had a lot of motion transfer and are very very firm…I’d recommend finding a quieter spot if your looking for good sleep.

There's nothing wrong with Huaya, just can't quite give them five stars. Staff are friendly but be aware, their English isn't great and they much prefer to speak Spanish. This is by no means a criticism, it's a Spanish speaking country but being armed with some basic Spanish yourself is a plus. WiFi worked great apart from the odd dip. The pool is small but there's plenty of space to relax around it. The Potheads restaurant is also a popular hang out and is on site. There's a yoga studio and massages offered on site also. There are rental bikes but there were none available when we stayed. They're also slightly pricey at $200 which we found odd, thought there might be a discount for guests. The vibe on the site is peaceful but it's very close to the road and it's noisy, all night and all day. You can also hear thumping music from the nearby clubs which may affect your sleep. Don't expect a complete escape from noise. The terraces outside the tents could be a little more tranquil, private and comfortable. The beds themselves were comfortable and spacious. The AC is a great addition and the outdoor private showers is a nice way to refresh oneself after a hot day. There is hot water but it's more lukewarm. This was fine for us. You have to pay a $3000 deposit for the key to the safe but you get that back. There's a bank opposite to withdraw money. Location is okay, a ten minute walk from the main bus station and very close to some awesome eating and drinking spots. Overall value for money lacking a little but it was high season prices. Like I said, absolutely nothing wrong with the place at all, just don't expect luxury or the finishing touches one might expect, even for a glamping hotel. I would still recommend staying here if this is your thing and the caveats above aren't a deal-breaker for you.
