They care about the having this place clean and follow the rules. The food is just what you need for breakfast.

We got here late, so the breakfast buffet was pretty empty. The food was pretty good though.

I was disappointed with the extremely limited selection of dishes available. My family and I visited this buffet and were told that kids are half price, which made the decision simple. Once we got there, they measured them and told us that they have to pay FULL Price. I have a 5 and 7 year old boys who are very tall, therefore we had to pay adult prices for them. My 5 year old ate a bite of his burger and some rice, one dessert. It's hardly an adult portion. We asked why a 5 year old is considered an adult and no one could give us an answer. I complained to the manager and she didn't care. I guess Mexican children are very short so it felt like my tall American kids were being discriminated against. Anyway, the food was cafeteria type, two main dishes, fried fish and pork in sauce. I don't eat either. So I had no meat to eat. The other option was a cheap frozen beef patty. It was really a huge disappointment. I will not go there again and I wouldn't suggest you did either. I live in Playa and always try to find good places to eat, but this one is certainly a no-no.

I was at La Ceiba late January 2022. I was there for dinner, arriving at about 6:30 p.m. My experience at La Ceiba was fully positive, I give it 5 stars. Location is centrally situated, 5. Super clean (employees were continually wiping and tidying, the restaurant appears committed to COVID protocols, including disposable plastic gloves), 5. Accuracy, the description by the restaurant, 5. I could communicate with the staff well, 5 and finally Value, a 5, only because I cant give more. I went to La Ceiba because I was craving a salad. I was able to build bottomless salad bowls of romaine and mixed greens, pico, brown rice, granola, dried cranberries and green peas, olive oil and balsamic. As for proteins, the grilled fish (delivered to me with a cup of pico and lime wedges) was delicious and perfectly cooked, the roast beef and a pork stir fry, again, delicious and perfectly cooked. There was also grilled chicken and another beef cut which was available for grilling, but which I did not have room for. There was a further array of many fruits, yogurts, breads, juices and water, all for 190 MXP. The staff was attentive and friendly, the space calm and not crowded, they also allowed me to view the offerings prior to committing. I definitely recommend La Ceiba and will likely head back there tonight.

Very bad "buffet ". I don't even know why it is call buffet. They only have to main dishes. Very low quality chicken. There is no brest or thighs. They only have legs and the rest of the chicken most of them is bone. The second dish is very very spicy pork chops. The dessert section only have pineapple and strawberry cake the rest of it is empty . The only thing that I will say is ok was the small salad bar. I would give them 0 stars if it was possible.

Definitively not a 5 star buffet restaurant except for the price, 170 pesos for dinner. Very few selection in the buffet not as show on pictures. I selected the chicken in a gravy brown sauce which was good but, the fish and the pizza were not fresh and cold. There were not fresh of the day for sure. Good choice of bread and desserts but again, not fresh. Only orange juice, water and lemon juice is offered. Tables inside with AC not really functional and outside but, they are not cleaned properly. I gave the restaurant a second chance for dinner tonight. More customers, the restaurant is 3/4 full meaning the food rotation is increased and fresher. A warm welcome by the cook and i had him cook a spaghettis with lots of vegetables, a good choice. Because of the lack of offering and cleanliness of some tables (mine for the second time) and floor, I still maintain my 3 star rating for La Cieba. Like last time, I still question the freshness of the food, for example, the meat of the hamburger is taken directly from the fridge to the cooking plate. Good and stable Wi-Fi is available at the front desk. Friendly service mainly in Spanish. Ps. When the chef cooked on the grill, there is a cloud of smoke in half the resraurant...my clothes will smell tonight !!
