★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I think its a chill street where u can find many shops with different stuff. It can be ram packed so if u don’t like crowd, stay away. We enjoyed our walk and gilatos on the way?

A lot of street vendors (handicrafts, drugs, food, and more).
It’s crowded and noisy. Shopping malls, banks, spas, and any kind of service.
Be aware of pickpockets.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5th Avenue is open to foot traffic only, no cars. There is a fun variety of shops from local vendors to chain stores, including tequila tasting and tattoo shops. A variety of restaurants to fit any appetite and price range. Street entertainers, photo opportunities, kid friendly atmosphere. A must see.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a nightmare! It’s a cross between Wisconsin Dells, Vegas, and any other tacky tourist destination you can think of. I personally don’t need to waste time and money on much of the wares hawked here.
I particularly hated the “zoo” about midway down that seemed to have a baby white tiger. It seems like an inhuman setting for animals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5th Avenue is definitely a “must visit” for any traveler or tourist in Playa del Carmen. With an outdoor mall, restaurants, and plenty of souvenir shops, walking on 5th Avenue will give you a fun glimpse into Mexican culture. Would recommend but wouldn’t go further away from the ocean since it’s not super safe past 5th.
