I feel like the whales are exploited. It's actually a bit sad. Plus it takes at least an hour to get there and spotting the whales isn't even guaranteed. Might give this a miss if you're on the fence. The staff was nice though.

I would like to thank Sindy and Isaac for a wonderful trip (July 11, July 13). Truly responsive to the needs of the passengers, well informed, and all around pleasant to be near. Actually, we scheduled a second tour because we had so much fun on the first one. Pickup from hotel was on time. Light bread(cake), melon and juice were served at the dock. We arrived where the whale sharks were feeding on plankton after about an hour boat ride. We were able to swim with 50, 60 or more, so many who knows how many were there, and wow do the giant fish get up close and personal. Freaking amazing. We have so many photos its insane. Note to self: If using a gopro, make sure its recording before you enter the water. Once your in the water, pay close attention to Sindy, she can see the Whale Sharks coming, and can direct you to the best position possible to see them. My wife actually got nudged by one of the whale sharks. On the way back, we had lunch (if your vegetarian or have special needs, let them know ahead of time, so they can accommodate). Then had some swim time and cerviche'. Pro tips: #1- If you know that you have tendency to be sea sick, take a Dramamine the night before, and another about an hour before your trip. You will be going out a good distance, the boat is pretty stable. If you take Dramamine once your on the water its too late. #2- The sunnier the day, the more active the whale sharks are. #3-pay attention while your in the water and swim quickly. Whale sharks don't look like they are moving very fast until they are right beside you. #4-you can rent a gopro and take the card home with you Again we had 2 most awesome trips and would most certainly go again.

Picked up from our hotel at 6:15 AM on the dot, they email you the time the night before. We arrived at the dock and rode 90 minutes to the spot where the whale sharks were. I was nervous we wouldn’t see any. We did! There were about 20 whale sharks and many manta ray. The guides were great and let you do what you wanted. I swam right along side many whale sharks! One of the best experiences of my life. Cindi the guide was awesome

Trip July 5th, 2018 - 5 stars all the way!! Great experience all around. Transportation, breakfast and the staff were all 1st class. The boat was very new and handled the rough conditions very well. Thanks to Captain Estaphan and Toto. (I'm not sure I got the names right so I apologize if I got them wrong) We were the first boat to spot the whales and the captain put us right on them. It was amazing. They were everywhere! The 1st mate took groups of 2 out non-stop for over an hour without even taking a break. It was the first time for me and my daughter so this was a great first time experience. We are not good swimmers or snorkelers so the extra time and effort from Toto to make sure we saw them up close was very much appreciated. Lunch in Isle Mujeres was amazing. Snorkeling afterwards was great for my daughter also. I would definitely recommend these guys. There were some sketchy looking boats out there so think about that when booking your trip. Our boat was the biggest and the fastest. THANK YOU Mexico Whale Shark.

An excellent experience with super staff. Unfortunately we did not see any whale sharks today, we did however stop to see 3/4 manta rays which was a great experience in itself. After the searching we then went to a reef for some snorkeling, which was unexpected but amazing. Great even without the sharks.

We were apprehensive. Not about the whale sharks. We were so excited at the opportunity for that. But I'd read reviews of a long fruitless day of big-wave seas and seasickness. So we lucked out because our weather was perfect which made the boat ride itself a delightful excursion. We saw flying fish, a turtle and a huge pod of dolphins, racing our boat and breaching gleefully. Pure happiness! As for the whale sharks, it was only the second day of the season and the first day there had been no sightings. Of course the day before that, there had been 20. This is why they tell you sooooo many times, there are no guarantees. Our group of 10 tourists had eyes peeled and it looked like it was going to be a bust, but then two were spotted. We all got 2 swims with them and you really have to be ready to jump in and sprint swim to get close, unless they turn towards you and then...WOW! It was breathtaking. Deeply satisfying. Well worth it. Words don't do justice. As for our guide Brandon and captain Juan, they care, and they are skilled at getting everyone to experience the wonder. They are clearly just as thrilled when it all works out as the customer is. They said June and July are the months where there are lots more to see. And that's great. Just know that you will still only spend a few minutes per turn into the water because your guide wants you to be safe and accounted for, and for all to get equal turns. In fact, because there were only two whale sharks, we took two instead of three swims each because and they don't want to over stress these giant beauties. Which I applaud. I did not feel short changed. I felt like they care about the whale sharks.

Best tour ever. First of all, Julio was great at communicating and being flexible with the rescheduling due to weather issues. He was able to squeeze us in for a tour on our last day. Second, the shuttle was on time, transportation was quick. We were just 10 people on the boat and was not crowded at all. The sandwiches were delicious, not to mention the conch ceviche and fruits served at the boat. Most importantly, AGAIN THIS WAS THE BEST TOUR EVER. Here's why: 1) We saw 2 turtles mating in the middle of the ocean. Captain Juan got us within arm's reach distance 2) We saw a lot of whale sharks both on the boat while waiting our turn, and also underwater. Captain Juan was an expert in positioning the boat perfectly where the whale shark would swim right up to the boat and we could jump in right as its big mouth opened. It was amazing! We got to go in 3 times!! 3) We saw a huge pod of dolphins on the way home, they were groups of 5-10 breaching the surface, and if you dip your go pro under the boat-- there were a lot more dolphins! It was such a breathtaking experience. I'm so glad my husband and I were able to join. Our guide Brandon(?) Was very good at navigating us to the whale sharks and taking gopro footage of us swimming with the whale sharks. Amazing customer service. Highly recommend this tour company to everyone!

Loved this bucket list experience! It was amazing and so worth it. Everything is done very professionally. Niki, our guide was extremely helpful and very nice. He helped me to get close and I was able to film this dreamy encounter. Having said that, you can only go down 2 times, which feels very short. I wish a 3rd time was allowed. The snorkeling portion was very short, I wished it was longer, but our boat left late, so I think they were making up time. Overall, the experience is worth it and it’s so spectacular to swim with these beautiful creatures.
