★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For Summer of 2021 this beach was pretty much seaweed-free, much better than the stinky piles of seaweed in Cancun. The water was warmer than I expected. This place is marketed for kite surfing but it's also just a great place to swim and fly a regular kite ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El Cuyo is a pristine place where only a selected few go. Unspoiled by overtourism. The beach is great. Clean, ample. The water is however dangerous at times due to currents. Not for family swiming, but more for kite surfing and long walks. El Cuyo will remain "virgin" for many years because it is not easy to get there. The road is remote and the last strech narrow. The town is simple and under developed. Many boutique hotels here promote an in touch with nature policy.
