If you're traveling to Cozumel, I wouldn't recommend renting from this place. I reserved a scooter from a kiosk after a ferry ride and paid cash. The kiosk attendant didn't have change and he said that he would be there until 7PM and that I could come back later to collect. Luckily I declined and waited, because when I returned to take the ferry back around 6:30 he and all of the other kiosk attendants were no where to be found. Shady staff trying to take advantage of travelers. Next, when I picked up the scooter, it had a broken rear view mirror that wouldn't stay in place after adjustment. This made riding it very unsafe. Finally, the helmets they offered were too big and not clean. If you do rent from them, make sure you get the insurance. If you don't get the insurance, they will hold your deposit hostage for any little scratch. They'll tell you they will need replace entire panels for "repairs" and that it will be out of commission and you will need to cover their costs associated with the time it will be in the shop. Finally, if you do need to pay with a credit card, they'll claim they need to tack on a 16% surcharge which seems unlikely since so many other shops take card with no problems what so ever. So save yourself the hassle and money and go with a more trustworthy rentadora.

This place is one of the only local car rental options. Their prices are almost always the lowest. The cars are well used and the prices reflect that. Do not expect some fancy brand new car, but that is OK because this is the way to see the island. I found them at the ferry terminal, they walked me to their shop. It was an easy experience and I highly recommend them. The other negative reviews are from people expecting a typical brand new car rental which this place is not offering. They do have convertibles and any other car you could want. Just do not expect them to be pristine.

These guys were great! We found them right off the ferry and in less than 15 minutes we were driving away in our rental car. The price is unbeatable and while the car was a little worn, it drove fantastically. Don't worry if there's a little body damage, it's normal for car rentals in Mexico. We paid almost $1000 for a rental from Enterprise in Cancun, and the bumpers were destroyed. Paraiso Rental is a great rental service that we'll be using every time we come to the island, and we'll be recommending them to our friends. Thanks again for the great service!

Don’t rent a car here!!! I repeat do not rent a car here!! We rented a pt cruiser and it broke down in the middle of the road and the worst part is the owner didn’t believe us and made us pay even though we had a terrible time …

Renting from this company was a huge mistake. When avis was out of cars, I went with them, because they were right next door to Avis in the ferry terminal. After following alex, who was nice enough, to their garage where they keep the cars, he “accidentally” typed the wrong conversion into his credit card reader. After explains that credit cards require a 16% fee, I decided to pay in cash. We were given a car with 1/4 of a tank of gas, and upon returning the car with the exact same amount of gas (we stopped and put gas in) they insisted we needed to put 10 liters of gas in, even though we barely drove the car Five miles. We love Cozumel, but companies like this really give it a bad wrap.

Like everyone said, the cars was busted out but functionnal. The thing is if you've traveled a little you know that when you bring back your car its sometimes complicated with hidden fees and everything. When we returned our jeep completly full of mud, it took litterelly 2 sec and we were out, no hidden fees. I will recommend to everyone if you want a no trouble type of rental

We rented a jeep. It was all corroded inside, the dashboard didn’t work. There was no seatbelts, one 1 front light worked. The door handle didn’t work and drove horrible. In summary it was a piece of junk. Go somewhere else.

Alamo ran out of cars and Alex was next door and said he had cars available. He was very nice and professional. Pricing was the same as Alamo and the car was clean and in great shape. I was nervous about renting due to some of the bad reviews but I had no issues at all other than the headlight burning out mid trip which could happen to any car. I would definately use them again.
