UltraMar - 77600 Cozumel

Worst experience ever. First time and never again UltraMar Experience Innovation Cozumel Ferry. It is burning hot, 32 degrees Celsius and we have to wait in line almost an hour now and we still can't get in the area where the ferries are. This is totally unrespectful against the customers. Everyone gets roasted in the sun. Empathy of the employees? Of course not. No one takes care of it. I am sorry to say that but that's the experience i made so far in mexico. Service is really bad, people are not really friendly. Only when they sell you something or can have a benefit of you. I will not come back to Mexico anymore i am sorry. At least not to Quintana Roo and the touristic places. For me it is a 3rd world country with higher prices than in industrial countries. And scammers everywhere. No, thanks.....

It was our first time taking the ferry to Cozumel. We were not informed that there are days ultramar company ferry doesn’t operate. So buy only one way and at the ferry station so you know which ferry company is operating at that time you’re there!! Big lesson learned! Instead We bought round trip ultramar ferry tickets at playa del Carmen ferry station and on the day we needed to get back the day for our flight we come to the same ferry station in Cozumel and found out the ultramar ferry company is not operating. We had to buy tickets for the other ferry company. It’s at same station but still!! They failed to inform people about the schedule dates. They only mentioned the hours. The sales man presented the schedule as if the ferry runs everyday. Didn’t tell us jack about the days it runs. I don’t even know there is another ferry company. They switch days with other ferry company called Winjet. I want to make sure people know and understand the schedule to not be misled. I bought round trip to ensure we have seats for ferry for going back not knowing the dates it operates. I would only buy at the station and for one way for future trips. so lesson learned to buy only one way and buy at the ferry station so you know which ferry company is operating that day! Everything else is good

We rented through Ultra Mar in Playa del Carmen. $75 per buggy. Supposedly everything included. Arrived. No gas. They charged insurance. No buggies. Gave us Jeeps that were hazardous to drive. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. They are dishonest and tack on addl charges. We had a very unpleasant experience. So no trust these people.

A luxurious ride onboard an Ultramar ferry is half the fun of living on the island. I picked up a friend from Playa del Carmen and the ferry across was her favourite part of the holiday! Large comfortable seats with good air-conditioning inside or there is an outdoor area upstairs and it's even pet friendly so you can take your fur babies with you. They sell drinks, snacks and beer so you can really kick back and relax, enjoying the soft leather seats in comfort making the 35min trip go even faster. Or, like a lot of other passengers, take a nap and before you know it you're across. There are huge glass murals that light up at night depicting seascapes and are gorgeous so overall it's a more luxurious way to get to the island and back.

The boat has indoor and outdoor roof seating. There is also an onboard bar and live music. It is about a 30 minute ride each way. The prices for drinks and snacks are average for the area.

I used UltraMar for both of my trips to Cozumel and have no complaints. The ships are incredibly clean and well-maintained. There's tons of seating both inside and out. both trips included scuba diving in which I brought my own gear. The friendly staff place my bag in storage which I was able to pick up once we docked (no extra fee). A round-trip ticket from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel is about $18usd.

I wasn’t informed that there are 2 types of class tickets - Tourist and First. When I arrived at the ticket counter at Cozumel, and I asked to buy 1 ticket, the lady at the counter pressed her calculator for the amount of 310 pesos. I assumed that was the price of the ticket, so I paid. She did not even tell me it’s first class. I felt cheated even though it’s only 60 pesos difference. But please, do not assume that we are rich just because we are tourists. This is very bad business etiquette and I will never use this company again. Horrible horrible etiquette.

They sold me a first class tickets from Cozumel under the pretext that I won't have to wait in line and will be boarded first. Then they put me in the end of the very long line and told me that there is one line for everybody, first class or not. No social distancing. I paid for the first class to be able to have social distancing at least.
