Sephora Playa del Carmen - 77710 Centro

Thought this was something that just happened to me personally but now I see here that it has been the case for a lot of other customers. The staff here is terrible, to the point of harassing you while you are looking at the products. It turns into an uncomfortable situation really fast as after telling them that I was only looking two or three times, one sales person just decided to follow me around the store acting as if they were fixing makeup close to wherever I went. Once I got tired of it, I approached her and asked her if she was following me, to what she answered that "I don't know how many people steal from them", so, basically accusing me of trying to do it. Then she tried to fix it (and, of course didn't) by adding that LOTS of people break very expensive makeup samples and then get upset when they want to charge them for it. So in less than 30 secs I was accused of both stealing and getting potentially upset (??) for them charging me for something I didn't yet even break. I was so offended that I left without picking up what I intended to buy in the first place, and since they are the only store that carry this in playa, I am trying to just order it online to avoid giving them my business or even going back there. I have never felt so bad while simply trying to have a nice shopping experience. Their sales """technique""", of accusing potential customers is just ridiculously upsetting.

What a joke this place has been through COVID Rude people in the front, not allowing in more than 2 people , shutting down whenever they feel , stating sanitization All locals have now turned to the internet We vow to never return to this nightmare that has always had empty shelves and bad service anyway. Just close down , already! We don’t want you in playa , anymore!

Staff does follow you around harassing you in a very horrible way… . Staff is there when you don’t need them and not there when you need them, like at the register… Staff has no knowledge of the products… and flat out lie in your face about ingredients or “item is good for” to the point of gaslighting just to sell you the product. *If you are not sure about what you need in terms of product usage or ingredients and are looking for the “professional” Input considered yourself scammed, bc they will lie to sell.

Works customer service. Aggressive with customers. Never going there again.

I went there with my fiancé to look at what products they carry. I noticed a staff following me around where every I went and found that very rude. Also it seems they carry very limited products. Please avoid this place.

HORRIBLE!!! This place left a completely bad taste in my mouth. Completely disregarding any kind of professionalism or responsibility to their customers. I needed something for a trip, and knew that Sephora might be the only place in town that had it. When I arrived a sign said that they were doing inventory until 1230 and the store was closed until then, even though they’re supposed to open at 11am. Since I had taken a long cab ride to get there, I decided to wait. 1230 passed and I called the store, and they said that they would open at 1:00. I was already highly irritated for having to wait until 1230 and then they said 1:00. I felt like I had invested so much time and energy just to be there and even though I was annoyed I decided to wait. At 1o’clock an employee came to the door to let another employee out, and when I asked if they were going to open he said another half an hour! I am furious! I had three phone appointments this afternoon and had to push them all back just to wait until 1:00, and they didn’t even open at 1:00. I now look irresponsible and careless to my clients because the idiots working here were too stupid to schedule their time properly, or do inventory at night. Never freaking ever again!!! EDIT: Supposed to open late at 12:30, did not open until TWO O’CLOCK. And to make a disgusting situation even worse, they didn’t even have what I needed, which every Sephora I’ve ever visited always has. TRASH.

Im standing infront of the store - it's 11:34 am and they are still not open. The open hours in Google and also on the shop window says that it should be open from 11:00 - 21:00 !!!

The prices on the price tag (and webpage) is different from their system. Watch out and check the prices they tell you. Maybe that’s a mistake, sometimes it happen but the stuff did nothing to fix it and I just left the store. Maybe PROFECO will come and fix it, who knows.
