Turistica Moguel - 77310 Holbox

We used touristica Holbox for our activities on our trip. We had organised to go kayaking at 7 am one morning and nobody turned up. Luckily, we managed to find the head office and complain as we had been waiting for an hour! The gentleman who we had organised our kayaking tour with was still sleeping! After negotiations and making a fuss of our appointment not turning up we were saved by Holboxtreme (a great tour company). Another member of the touristica group managed to find us another spot with holboxtreme and this member was apologetic (kudus to him). But we were upset to begin with as we felt that this sleeping individual was wasting our time.

Bioluminescent tour for 500 pesos/person, advertised as 8 people total, sit on paddle boards (2 people/board) strung together while guide kayaks out, tie kayaks in a circle and swim with bioluminescent plankton. Save your money - the trip was silly, no need to go beyond the shore as plankton are everywhere. We were picked up at 145 am, and met up with 14 other people + 3 guides. The moon didn’t go down until 330 am and everyone wanted to go home (literally all) - it was too bright to see the bioluminescence well. The guides were scared that people would ask for money back so they would not take us home. Eventually everyone got off the boards, walked to the shore, and walked back via the beach by 445 am. We understand that the guides can not control the brightness of the moon, but people should not be kept against their will in the ocean at night.

Victor still owes me money. Dishonest business. Spend more money on a promised smaller snorkeling group. Ended up in one of the big boats. Canceled another trip with them. Reached out to Victor throughout my vacation and only heard one lie after another regarding the agreed refund.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE ! Our promised 6 hour cabo snorkelling tour today finished in only 4 hours. No bilingual guide, no snorkelling time at all (sea too cloudy) , no visit to lighthouse beach, lunch served at 1030 am and NO REFUND WHATSOEVER. Don't blame them for sea conditions but taking advantage of it is very disreputable. Shame it gives Holbox a bad name.

I actually didn’t mind our tour to Cabo catoche and was quite surprised to read some of these reviews. We visited all of the advertised stops however as others have said, on the day we visited the water was too cloudy to see anything snorkeling and we didn’t get off the boat. However, they had warned us prior to booking that there would be a 50/50 chance we’d not see anything. I liked the service provided, we all caught fish, did a bit of sightseeing in the reserve, enjoyed fresh ceviche etc.

We made a tour whale-sharks, including some photos and videos made by the guide with a go-pro. We never reveived the videos. I had to insist many time to the agency : in english or spanish, the result was the same. We paid 100€ and we have absolutely no souvenirs because the guide insisted and told us he will take everything as it was included ! Plus, you are really treated like meat during the whole tour. The guide and the captain fed the fishes and small sharks (which is strictly prohibited) and trashed the bin in the sea. There are amators. Everything is said.

Didn't feel right from the start. Th promised transportation wasn't there so we had to walk, the guide didn't speak English at all and there was one girl who could translate but that didn't work at all. But the worst part: the whole group got robbed of all our valuables during the tour. Completely irresponsible guide and no communication at all. Stay away from here!

Miguel was the main reason I purchased the whale sharks swim excursion. Best guy on the team. Well worth the trip, nice scenery on the way there and back.
