Here is what to expect for the "Classic Tour" (aka 3 island tour) in the off-season (October): we came in to book the day before we wanted to go out for the tour. We were told the port was closed so we could not go, but then told that the port may be open in the morning so we could message our guide Jesus on WhatsApp to find out the next morning. We don't speak Spanish well so we confirmed the guide would be bilingual and we're happy to find at 9am the next morning that the port was open and we would depart at 10am. A taxi picked us up and took us to the boat. This is when we paid: money for the tour went to our taxi driver (we were confused by this at first as he just took off after that without introducing us to a guide first). Our guide came to get us from there. The guide on the boat didn't speak English and we don't speak enough Spanish to get anything out of a guided tour - but that didn't matter because the guide didn't tell us anything along the way anyway. First we went to bird island. We saw brown pelicans, double crested cormorants, frigate birds, and royal terns as well as some gulls (Bonapartes I think). Then to the Ojo de agua. I hadn't been in a cenote yet so I'm glad we stopped - but remember your tour fee DOES NOT cover entry to the cenote. Its only 25 pesos though. The cenote is small - definitely not big enough for all the boats full of people who stop there at once. Good experience though overall. Then you have to wait for your whole group to finish so it could be a long stop depending on the group. Last, you'll go to Paradise Island: where you'll see flamingos! This made the trip worth it for me. Otherwise, the island is swimming with mosquitoes so BRING YOUR BUG SPRAY! Our guide didn't explain to us in English or with hand signals that he was going to move the boat so we were shocked to come out and find the boat gone. We waited a while (being eaten alive) before wading around the island to find a dock and boats. I wish he'd waited for us but I guess it is our fault for not speaking Spanish (though I'm not sure he told others either, as a couple people lagged behind us). We also saw dolphins on this tour but that was by chance because we spotted them ourselves. Otherwise the guide was just speeding through - and I don't blame him. This 3 hour tour took us about 4 hours.

Excellent! We used their transfer service from Cancun to Hotbox (and return). Everything ran like clockwork and the drivers were extremely courteous. I would definitely use them again.

I guess they have too much business and the have no flexibility or willing to accommodate customers. We looked for this tour agent (BTW gMap has the wrong position, they moved) and when we get at the desk we found a young girl. We asked for the whale-shark tour. As we were afraid she said they start those on June. That's it. We ask for alternative tours and she provide us with vague information on a snorkeling tour. We went to other tours provider and all of them tried to get us on a whale-shark tour and all provided with alternatives. At the end we didn't get the whale-shark tour because of the weather but they provide us with an alternative island and snorkel tour instead. Summary go to an other place so you don't bother this guys.

This place even though small in comparison to others like VIP Holbox does provide a very high quality experience in their tours, transits and other packages. The people are very kind and willing to help you plan your trip so you feel like youre in paradise.

Wish we would have taken a tour, but Chuy runs a tight ship and his employees say they like working for him-which I believe to be important. We used him for transfers back and forth from Cancun and his drivers were where they were supposed to be at the time they said they would. They took care of the car, ferry and golf cart. We just showed up. And the price was very competitive.

Prompt Professional and Courteous Transportation - Our Hotel - Beach Front Hotel La Palapa used Holbox Adventure for our transportation from the Airport to ferry (driver Oliver). Ferry to our Hotel La Palapa and return back to ferry (driver Freddy). From Ferry to Playa Del Carmen(Driver Pedro). All the individuals that assisted us with ground transportation were top notch. Informative, pleasant and ready to answer questions and also provide general information about our travels. In the cases where we had a lengthy travel time (2 hrs.), the drivers offered options on stopping points for drinks/bathroom. We were that our hotel recommended and book Holbox adventure for our transportation as it took that variable out of hour hands. Neither of us are familiar with Mexico ground travel and Holbox island, although a great place, had internet and phone service affected by rain, which we encountered when leaving. While other travelers where attempting to hail transportation, in the rain, our driver Freddy was at reception waiting for us as scheduled. Holbox Aventrue for transportation we highly recommend.

Eric our guide was great and the swimming with whale sharks was fantastic. But the captain of the boat had no regard for the passengers safety on a choppy day. All of the passenger were constantly thrown into the air on the way out to the whale shark area and on the return trip. We were overtaking many boats, who were cruising at acceptable speeds considering the conditions. My wife has sustained a back injury and I'm very sore from the trip. I'm in my early 40s and my wife is in her mid 30s and we're both fit. I wouldn't recommend this company for the trip .

We used their transportation service from Cancun Airport to Holbox. They were on time and efficient. When we got off the ferry we were met by Freddy who was waiting for us to take us to our hotel. Meeting Freddy was the best thing that happened to us. He was so knowledge, informative and spoke English. We booked all the rest of our activities through him. This a small company that has the best interests for its customers in mind. We were sad to leave Holbox and Freddy. Best trip ever.
