The beach club staff were very hostile and unwelcoming. My girlfriend and I had to wait a long while to get 2 lounge chairs (even though there were hardly any guests and plenty of staff standing around). Then once we got our spot, they took a while to bring the menus and told us they have a new minimum spend rule and then eventually told us they are cash only. Terrible place no wonder it was empty. Far better options in Tulum to spend your money.

You cannot go wrong with a hotel right on the great Paraiso beach (beach: long and narrow, not crowded, warm azure clean water). I repeat - HOTEL ON THE BEACH! Can't beat such an ideal location. 24/7 beach access + the archeological ruins and a fun outdoorsy shopping area within walking distance. Staff had varying levels of English (some none at all) but were generally friendly and helpful. Restaurant Coral Azul, attached to the hotel, has nice, good food, but they close around 8 pm. I wish they stayed open past 8 pm. My room was plain, I wish the shower pressure was stronger, and there was an odd smell which I believe was the cleaning products (I noticed some hand soaps have this smell) but I did not come to Tulum to spend my time in posh accommodations - the room was at least cleaned daily. I was able to rent a bike right through the hotel, which is appreciated as I did not have to spend time searching for bike rentals.

Whoever never stayed here will be missing out. Great eco friendly place with small cabanas and hotel rooms, the only down fall is that they shut down AC at like 9 am, other then that super picturesque place with great great cheap beach bar, awesome beach and Mayans ruins view, something incredible. The food and drinks are awesome and the place is spot on, not any lavish but super relaxing, don’t forget the massage at the beach :-) $40/ full hr. Awesooooooome !!

They guy at their beach club tried to scam me for $100, he put a green band on my wrist and claimed that because I tore it off I was required to pay him 2000 pesos in cash only. I was there for less than five minutes, and was going to leave when I found out they don’t accept cards, that’s when this guy physically grabbed me and threatened to keep my phone and belongings. He only left me alone once I got my Mexican husband on the phone and he figured out his scam wasn’t going to work. This place is dangerous, stay away.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I chose this place for the location and it being on the beach front. The accommodations could not have been more horrible and not worth the "good location." The floors were both sticky and slimy at the same time, the beds were moist, the smell of sewage radiated through everything, and the bathrooms were terrible. They were basically outhouses with rooms built around them. The last straw was the family of lizards living in our room. We left that night. We tried to get our money back for the next day wsince we didn't plan to stay for any longer. They refused. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! Also the beach was not cleaned so it was covered in debris and unenjoyable.

Came to the beach front restaurant for drinks and a bite to eat. We started off with just drinks and the server was offended we didn’t order food right away? We decided to just leave after drinks and go elsewhere. It took him over an hour to get the check as he was actively ignoring our table. It’s a cash only restaurant and they “didn’t have change” and needed us to pay in exact change or pay more. Tried to exit through the front so we can get to the main road and got greeted with hostility from one of the staff members

This place attempted to scam my partner since he doesn’t speak Spanish, they wanted to charge him 10 times the entrance fee when he attempted to leave after 5 minutes of being there and not getting clear answer about if they accepted cards or not, they grabbed him by the arm and threaten him to keep his stuff. Totally un aceptable way to treat tourism, when I showed up since my partner called me, they so called manager of the place threaten me to don’t mess around with him thinking I was stranger and not the husband of my partner. Never going back to this place!

Worst hotel experience I have ever had (and I stayed in a lot of hostels, which as long as they are clean, it is ok with me). The quality of accommodations is below anything I have experienced. There is no glass in widows or nothing to adjust them and it felt like there was space between walls and a roof; so if there is wind (I was there in January and although it was 80 during the day, the night was very windy) it felt like we slept outside or in a tent. It was cold in our room at night (because of the wind and no protection from it) and there was nothing to cover ourselves other than a thin sheet. Bathroom was very low quality, there was no warm water (boiler was broken), no soap. We paid over $100 USD for this. It was just very bad.
