Azul Tulum By Guruhotel - 77780 Tulum

I stayed here during the busy season Dec. 23- Dec. 26 and thank goodness for only 3 nights then changed plans. No hot water most of the time. No ice machine on the property. No drinking water. No windows that open for ventilation. No frills. I give 2 stars because it was very clean and had nice staff. Sergio is an excellent employee that tried to make my stay better. He was quite helpful. If you need anything like a nearby restaurant or market, forget it. Its hard to find on a map especially without GPS. I wouldn't recommend this hotel because fir the price it's a real inconvenience

Me and my family went to Tulum and were looking forward to a great stay. We took a 2 bedroom apartment with the kitchen and everything went beyond our expectations. The Rooms was clean with great bedding and towels. Kitchen was well furnished with everything we needed. Grocery store was 7 minutes away, and 5 minutes on the bike. Bikes have baskets, so it's easy to carry groceries. Location is very convenient, we wanted a quiet and safe place to stay. It's perfect as it's half way to downtown of Tulum and relatively close to the beach. The Hotel offered free bike rentals, as well as an option to rent motorcycles. Pool on the roof is amazing, was very clean and we had fun up there. The staff was very helpful with all requests we had. It was an amazing vacation. We were very pleased to stay there. And hopefully will have a chance to stay at this amazing hotel again.

No house keeping so the room smells like padussy after the 2nd night also no hot water and no clean towels. Overall receptionists were okay to deal with but management and owner need some serious customer service skills.

Without Sergio this hotel is 0 stars! Sergio keeps this place alive and inviting. - If you plan to sleep at night, do not stay here. You will hear loud obnoxious noise at every hour of the night. You can literally hear EVERYTHING loudly. -Housekeeping is not included in your stay. -bring plenty of towels because they don’t change them for you. (We were left without towels for one evening because they were locked up and the manager couldn’t access them) -Everything great, is far from this location -Be prepared to wait outside for a while upon arrival. They just aren’t attentive. -The check in process is tedious. They make you sign up on your phone, and it’s like. 20-30 min process. -Manager ERNESTO is rude. I really don’t know what he is doing here. Everyone else is so kind and provides such great service but he is the dark cloud. He seems miserable and has combative attitude for anything! -one morning I asked to borrow the BIKES that he promotes as free, and he didn’t want to loan us the new bikes, he suggested we rent two old bikes for $10 dollars per day. We needed three. So we asked if we can just borrow the bikes that are free, he declined and said they just weren’t ready for use yet. This was awful because the taxis can run pretty pricey. This put a hole in our plans for the day.

The place was very nice but they service sucked. No maid service couldn't get any towels hardly.

I definitely do not recommend this place . I travel to tulum for my bday. I chose this hotel because reviews was great and the pics was nice. The rooms was nothing like the pics I saw when I first booked. There is a lot of construction going on . The floors was nasty. The shower water was cold. We didn’t have room service the whole time we was there . We had to beg to get more towels. It was just a disaster. Not to mention the power was off almost a hour . It was just horrible. Then the day of check out they kept sending messages about extra fees if we wasn’t out the room by 11:30 but we left the room at 2am that morning . Just wasn’t a good experience.

Wonderful place to stay. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. We're already looking forward to staying here again. The roads in this little community were a bit confusing, but the place is well worth figuring it out.

Great inexpensive hotel with a beautiful view. Had overslept and missed my checkout but they waited for me and did not charge me extra. At the top where the pool is at they have a little bar area where you can connect your phone to the TV and listen to music as well while you swim, or just relax on the lounge chairs. Would definitely come back and recommend this place to everyone not wanting an inexpensive place to stay. The roads to get here are pretty messed up so be careful and try using a truck instead of a lower car
