I chose Cabañas La Luna as the location to propose to my girlfriend (now fiancé) and couldn´t be happier with the result. The location was incredibly romantic as we had a beautifully arranged private table at the back of the beach within the sound of the waves.  The food was delicious and inventive, whilst the staff were extremely attentive, accommodating and best of all were on hand to help me get videos/photos of the perfect moment. For an unforgettable romantic meal and special occasion I can't recommend this highly enough

Cabañas La Luna are the best and most authentic place to stay in Tulum! These thatched roof cabañas are just what you need to get off the grid! The rooms feature extremely comfortable beds with mosquito nets. The property is all about keeping it natural, with tree stumps as tables and chairs, and limits to the electronic noise we are all so used to (although the wifi works well if you want to send a message or 2 home). The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating (our server, Felipe, is our new friend!), and the food and beverage are outstanding! Try the fresh seafood risotto and Mexican rosé wine! And of course, the beach is magical. Crystal clear blue water and white sand - you could stay there all day! We will definitely be telling our friends and returning soon.

Pros: -Friendly and welcoming staff -Great food -IDEAL location right on Tulum Beach -Cool beach bungalows -Mosquito nets on bed Cons: -Noise, right next to Taboo beach club and staff also didn't enforce quite hours from other guests -Water in shower smelled very bad and had a disgusting taste if it even touched your mouth. -Its cool being literally right on the beach but next to impossible to not track sand into your room. Overall impression: Overpriced (but nothing crazy) but if you're looking for a place right on Tulum Beach that is close to all the beach clubs, this is a decent option.

I’ll start by saying the staff and manager were extremely accommodating. That being said, we did not enjoy our stay here. We were looking for a quiet, private, and comfortable experience in Tulum for our honeymoon. If you are looking for this, I’d recommend you look elsewhere. It is located directly next door to a beach club, which is a disco/club from noon till 11pm. The music shook the walls of our room. The Colombus room smelled of a urinal due to the open concept. Although the staff did not detect a smell, it was unmistakable. The rooms are small, and the pictures online don’t quite do it justice as to how tight they are. The AC only works from 7p-8a, and didn’t make much of a difference (June). With all this in mind, the manager got permission from the owner to move us to a larger room at no cost and also offered to post our room online to sell in order to receive a possible refund. This was greatly appreciated and the staff was noting but courteous during all of this. This would be a great stay for someone not looking to spend much time on resort or looking to party, but I would not recommend for someone looking to just relax.

Edit: in the 2 years since i visited theyve posted a warning on their website about the noise. Unless you are a raver, the nouse is brutal. This was my first time in Tulum. We stayed in Coconut Cove- an upstairs lodging with two separate bedrooms. The rooms were so pretty and spotless. Each room has a king sized bed with big pillows and quality linens. The bathroom was pretty and colorful. Breakfast is included - very yummy- and so satisfying that we did not eat again till dinner. The pool is very well maintained and barely used but that is because Cabanas la Luna is right on the ocean. There are many chaise lounges on the beach that encourage my kind of laziness! The restaurant waiters circulate the beach and make sure you can buy food and drink right from your chair. BUT......what struck me the most about this beautiful place was the staff. They are so courteous. The cleaning crew is thoughtful- the gals knew I liked my curtains a certain way, etc. The breakfast waiters remember how you take your coffee and greet you each morning with big smiles and friendly "Buenos dias ". Leo, Filipe, Gerardo (apologies to the others whose names escape me). The reception guys- Miguel and Roberto make sure your needs are met. The manager- Dexter- is a nice combination of laid back and professional . The grounds are beautiful- the outdoor lighting really adds to the night atmosphere. My only complaint is the techno music next door but the staff is working on more soundproofing and the music stops around 8- give or take. We did get used to it. All in all I really loved staying there and so did my friend. There are a lot of these places along the beach in Tulum but this one wins my loyalty because of the genuineness of the entire staff. A real home away from home!

First of all- Thank you tremendously to Armando, Cleo, Fernando and all the other staff here for being accommodating and delightful hosts. The service at this place is impeccable. The rooms are clean. There’s AC and they have nice towels and linens. I also really enjoy the setup which is decentralized little cabañas opening up right to the beach. If you aren’t looking for a lively, hopping atmosphere I would not recommend this place as it’s dropped in the middle of several beachfront clubs and bars. The club next door plays loud pop and reggaeton music all day until late into the night so that is definitely something to consider. Also know that the crowd in this strip is completely tourists. There are no locals. If you come to Tulum please consider visiting Mayan villages like Punta Allen and letting the actual locals benefit from your tourism as a lot of these places are obviously not funding any local prosperity but doing the opposite. If you are looking to be in walking distance of plenty of bars and nice restaurants, with amazing staff and accommodating service I HIGHLY recommend Cabañas la Luna. The beach is very nice and I have felt very well taken care of and safe as a guest here. Thank you again to the incredible staff.

I absolutely LOVED staying at Cabanas La Luna. The cabanas are literally in the sand in front of the beach. The hotel has so much personality and every little detail was thought about. From thatched roofs to the mosquito nets covering the beds to the moon shaped water basin to step into to clean the sand off your feet as you walk up the stairs to your room. The beds were comfy and the rooms were clean. Some of the other reviews said the bathrooms smelled like urine, but that was not the case in the Marrakech room I stayed in. Some of the other reviews also complained about the noise from the club next door. Honestly, it really was not bad. The hotel provides ear plug for the noise, but I did not find it necessary to use them. If you know the club is there and know what to expect, its really not too loud. The restaurant at the hotel, Las Estrellas, had really good food too. I ate breakfast and dinner there. Both meals were very tasty and the atmosphere was wonderful. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I have noting but a great experience there. I will definitely stay there again and I highly recommend this boutique hotel for anyone looking for a toes in the sand experience in Tulum!

The staff here went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and safe. The restaurant was also delicious and had excellent service. We actually had a medical emergency during our stay and Myltha personally drove us to two different private hospitals to make sure we were taken care of. She was quite literally a hero for us in a time of need. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again based on this experience.
