Great experience. Ozomatli ( the guide) clearly knows what he is doing. If you want to live the real experience and not the mainstream touristic steam lodge in Tulum, this might be right up your alley. You can really do inner work with him if you allow yourself to open up your mind and your heart, at the ende Temazacalli is a medicine. I will definitley do it again. Thnks Ozo. I found this traditional ceremony to be very authentic and a powerful personal experience. Kasa Temazcal took me deep within myself. It was transformational and I feel much more grounded, connected and in touch to who I really am from this ceremony. I had the privilege of attending this amazing, authentic Temazcal experience. I came to Tulum wanting to attend a Temazcal ceremony, but all that was offered were the touristy ceremonies with large groups of people, which takes away some of the authenticity and traditions of this ceremony. The teacher was such a nice man and very eccentric. He explained in detail what the ceremony entails, why they pray a certain way, and the history about this ancient Mayan tradition. I was able to attend such a private ceremony (one other guy who knew him attended) in keeping alive the traditions of the ceremony. He only had two times, one at 6am and one at 7pm. Basically, in ancient Mayan tradition, the Temazcal ceremony can only be done at sunrise and sunset. The teacher explained the meaning of Mayan words and together we chanted these words together. During the ceremony we each share why we are there, and what was my intention for taking this ceremony. The ceremony begins with prayers to the north, south, east, and west and rubbing mud all over our bodies. Next, the teacher takes us inside the hut where he lines up burning rocks which will make the room very hot. The entire ceremony lasted about 1 hour and we were able to wash ourselves with water. I truly recommend this experience and trust that you will enter with an open mind.

This ceremony was a very special and unique experience. Yum Xhaak Has a jovial and lighthearted energy as he guides you through a wonderful and detailed ceremony. I was constantly surprised and delighted by the detail and engagement of the ceremony. It felt like an absolute blessing to be privileged to experience. I had an authentic Temazcal experience. It first started with finding a natural element that spoke to me prior to the ceremony and bringing it with me as a part of the tradition. As the Temazcal ceremony started I was pleasantly surprised about how I was invited to become an active participant in the ceremony right from the beginning. The teacher explained the meaning of Mayan words in the songs and chants so I could have a deep understanding of what we were doing at each moment. It was beautiful, it was challenging and I felt like I came out of it with new perspectives. Would definitely do this again. I would also recommend this to anyone who wants to attain more spiritual growth while participating in this ancient and wise tradition of the Mayan people.
