Meztli Spanish Language School - 77780 Tulum

I loved attending the Metzli school for two months in 2017 and am still friends with many of the people I met there. The school atmosphere is very conducive to learning, the teachers are outstanding, and many activities are organized that are not only fun, but highly educational. Let's put it this way, the day will begin with yoga, then three hours of Spanish lessons in small groups doing grammar and conversation. At the conclusion of the school day, I would pick a local cenote to swim in, followed by Mexican cooking class that evening. I loved every minute of it! I highly recommend this school.

I spent 2 months studying Spanish at Meztli Spanish school! I would highly recommend this school to anyone who is looking to learn Spanish and to meet interesting and caring people. I am a young woman traveling in Mexico and having the school also meant that I had a support system during my time in tulum! I absolutely loved my time there and I hope to return soon. Also the yoga in the mornings is a great start to the day and opens you mind so you can concentrate on the classes.

We absolutely loved the experience at Meztli and will return again! I experienced a wonderful Spanish school in Guanajuato many years ago and wanted the same experience for my children. Meztli was better! We attended classes for two weeks and everyone was very professional but personable at the same time. You can really tell that the instructors are happy to be there. We opted to attend some of the extracurricular excursions and I can't say enough about how educational and encompassing of the Mexican and Mayan culture they were. Ernesto and Sara were our guides and teachers and they did a wonderful job! We took advantage of all of the afternoon enrichment activities and the morning yoga and each experience was delightful. The school is comfortable, clean and has beautiful natural surroundings. The owner Sara has done a wonderful job with her vision and direction of what a language school should be! I will definitely be recommending this school to others I know who want to learn in an accommodating, personalized and immersive environment. Meztli Spanish School employees are a truly beautiful group of people!

Our daughters studied in person at Meztli for two weeks this summer and we all LOVED it. From their professionalism, communication, location, staff, teachers and teaching methods it was all such an easy and amazing experience. The school is beautiful, so well maintained and just a gorgeous place to learn. The teachers were patient, easy to understand and did a beautiful job with our 9 and 6 year old, making it fun and exciting to learn a new language. They took the kids on excursions; for ice cream, to cenotes and there was never a concern for their safety or lack of enjoyment. I cannot stress enough just how much our kids enjoyed this experience with Meztli!! There is nothing quite like immersing and living the language and this amazing place gives you the opportunity to learn the language, appreciate the culture AND have an absolute blast while doing so. The staff is kind and thoughtful, easy to reach and incredibly helpful. In addition, it is woman and local owned:) I give this incredible gem a 20/10. We will return next year and the year after and after. I cannot recommend this experience enough, go! Go now!

My best friend and I were at Metzli almost a year ago now, and still have the fondest memories of the incredible teaching and interactive activities such as cooking and yoga classes. Having done Spanish at a high level at school, I was astonished by how much more I learnt in a month at Metzli, over a month at school! Having also made friends for life, I would highly recommend.

I have just finished my two weeks of classes at Meztli as I move onto the next place in Mexico. I had an amazing time and it was the highlight of my trip to Tulum. The school is gorgeous, everyone is very friendly and organized and the extracurricular activities were really interesting and a great way to meet people. Sara was really helpful setting up my classes. Due to my work schedule, I couldn’t do the 9-12 classes so we worked out one on one tutoring from 8-9am. My tutor is the man, Eric Lopez. He was kind, interesting and a great conversationalist! I felt extremely comfortable from our first lesson and doing an hour class each day really helped me understand some basic Spanish! I hope you all find a teacher like Eric and he had set the bar high for my next teacher! However long you’re in Tulum, you should check out Meztli!

AMAZING Spanish school with friendly staff/teachers and a real family feel. The school itself is in a great location and really well taken care of. Lessons take place in their beautiful courtyard surrounded by trees and animals. I also loved the morning yoga and cooking class! I would highly recommend Meztli to anyone wanting to learn Spanish whilst in Tulum!

What a beautiful school and incredible learning experience!!! My husband and I attended Metzli for four months and worked with almost every instructor either in grammar classes, during the conversation portion of classes, or in the free daily afternoon activities. We participated in every opportunity offered including yoga classes, art classes, dance classes, cooking classes, boardgames, and in the weekend excursions. We can vouch that every instructor at this school is patient, personable, professional, and ready to share a piece of Mexico with you. We loved both the group and private classes as the school works very hard to keep the class sizes small. The schools environment is welcoming, family friendly, and authentic. Every group activity provides an opportunity to practice your Spanish while learning a piece of Mexico’s culture and history. The daily morning yoga classes are of incredibly high value. I have practiced yoga for many years and experienced many instructors. The three women that rotate through the week are some of the best instructors I’ve seen. They are patient, they ensure your safety while increasing your exposure to the Spanish language, and they tailor each class to the students that show up to practice that day. Each excursion we went on was far superior to any tour we have done in the past in Mexico. Most of our tours were with Adrian and as a guide there is no one better. He tailors the experience to meet the groups needs, he worked kindly with our vegan diet preferences, knows where all the bathrooms are located, and he seems to plan every route to avoid crowds, persistent venders, and the heat of the day. This school is very well managed! Every detail from bug spray to sugar for your coffee has been arranged so that you have a comfortable class in the heart of Tulum. The director of the school, Sara, is very warm and welcoming with a passion for helping students learn Spanish and learn more about Mexico. We hope some day soon to return here and continue our lessons!
