Sandos Caracol Eco Resort - 77710 Playa del Carmen

The resort was so beautiful. The monkeys and all the different birds and animals were gorgeous. Whilst the food wasn’t great it did the job. The pools were beautiful and there were always available beds. Fresh towels every day and lovely rooms. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Diana at check in/out was fast and efficient.

The staff are all amazing! They are extremely friendly and they let you know that they are here to make your stay the best. The activities and the grounds are great! The downside is the food. It is edible but that's it. The only good tasting food is the Japanese restaurant. I wish the management would work on improving the quality of the food. It really needs attention.

So far our trip has been amazing! There were many bad reviews that scared us but we have been treated with amazing Flora and wonderful service. The food will keep you fed but nothing to write home about but overall the people have been so accommodating. The water park has been so much fun and pools perfect for kids. River cruise with David was such a nice one! The Mexican magic town on Sundays was magical!

We have had an amazing time at this resort. It's absolutely a resort for kids, our two boys, ages 7 and 4 had a blast. One of the biggest highlights for them was going to the kids club. The staff there, especially Maria, went above and beyond to give them love and attention. We can't wait until we can escape to come back here again. If your goal of a holiday is to have fun with your kids then you will not be disappointed by choosing this resort!

The kids absolutely loved the water park, they enjoyed both of the slides and the food was surprisingly good. They only served hot dogs and burgers but again surprisingly good. Also the staff were friendly and kept an eye on the kids doing inappropriate things. It was a very safe environment with many kids running around and no parents constantly chasing after them.

We attended the resort as guests to a wedding. All aspects related to the wedding were nice, a quiet ceremony area, open space for cocktail hour, nice meal for dinner, and when the rain rolled in the staff was able to pivot and move everyone and out of the passing shower. For the 5 hours we were involved in wedding activities it was nice. Beyond the activities directly related to the wedding, I do not recommend this resort. A few specifics, the mini-fridge in our room wasn't stocked daily (as advertised), the water jug in our room was 1/4 full when we arrived and wasn't replaced/refilled , the sliding door to the balcony in our room didn't lock, there were no robes (but were advertised) and there were lots of children running around in the adults only room section for the duration of our stay. As mentioned, we went to the resort to attend a wedding and wouldn't have selected this resort if we were choosing on our own. The majority of the staff was clearly doing the best they could, but there is better, food, beverages, and overall customer experience to be found elsewhere in the Mayan Riviera for a similar price point.

My family and I had and amazing time at Sandos Caracol Eco Resort in Playa del Carmen!! The resort itself was absolutely beautiful with so many different things to do right on the property, between Mayan ruins, all of the animals, the pools, beach, and shoes. The staff was so kind. The food was delicious. The Rivera was my favorite place for breakfast with Roger and Antonia. Jordan from France was the best in the recreational department! And a Benjamin made awesome drinks at the pool bar. I hope to come back soon. I highly recommend this resort if you are planning a trip to Playa del Carmen!!

Awesome hotel other than no hot tub. There’s a big “extra warm pool” in the select adults only section. You have to find the right restaurants to go to for breakfast lunch and dinner. Room service food is not good. Some restaurants are much better than others. No sauce on the pizza at the Italian, kinda weird. All the staff are super nice. Awesome wildlife and scenery at the resort. Water is pretty rocky but you can follow sandy paths in the water.
