★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous Island full of wonderful food and people. It is the perfect place to relax if you are not into the Cancun lively scene. The water was crystal blue and the little town was amazing. No cars only bikes and golf carts, which made it even lovelier. I highly recommend Isla Holbox and if you do go and want to stay in the little pueblo I suggest Hotel El Pueblito. Centrally located, near all the good local food spots and just a few blocks from the most gorgeous beaches. If you do go bring pesos.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ nice spot. not for everyone. town square is okay but the rest of the town is quite beat up. before you come here know what your getting into. full day of travel to get here and another full day to return to Cancun airport. unless you go via expensive taxi. the town is getting way to crowded with golf cart taxis. kind of losing the traditional feel. even the locals say so. thick seaweed along the beach 1-2 feet thick. i was there mid Jan as a repeat destination. unsure if i will go again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not giving 5 stars only for the slightly murky water and not having the chance to do snorkelling (only sandy coast). For the rest amazing island, a paradise not yet spoiled by too many tourists and resorts. The small town in the center is packed with nice restaurants, bars and and small shops, perfect to spend the night after a relaxing day at the beach.
