Esmeralda Boutique Residences & Hotel - 77760 Tulum

The hotel owners, Scott and Andres, were exceptional hosts. The hotel was clean, well decorated, and in a central location. Also, the front desk staff, Lorena and Gonzalo, offered prompt and effective service. The hotel even has a feature where you can order room service from a number of local restaurants though WhatsApp. We got our food promptly and it was delicious!Our rooms, PH9 and PH13, were excellent, both two stories with private plunge pool on the balcony. The beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked well. We will definitely return soon!!!

Esmeralda is stunning! The staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. Once inside the hotel, it is hard not to notice the details that make this place special - it truly has the spirit of Tulum! The rooms are incredible and have everything you need for a beach-town getaway. Room service is offered and it has several delicious, local options. Or, if you're interested in venturing out, you're blocks from the main strip downtown with tons of restaurants, shops and bars. The staff at Esmeralda will also help you book a tour for an adventure day. We will definitely be back!

Esmeralda Boutique Hotel was the best hotel stay I've ever had! Every detail of the design was impeccable; the attention to this detail was quite impressive. Plentiful outlets, incredibly comfortable mattress, curated mini bar selection, warm lights, signature bath products, and the pool was amazing! We loved staying in town and it was easy to bike to the beach and explore the delicious & affordable food options close by as well. The hotel staff was very helpful throughout the entire stay, arranging to provide anything that we needed, including late night food at 1am! Shout out to Gonzalo and Rosa Maria- thank you!! An unforgettable trip made even better by this lovely stay.

Esmeralda is a stunning, absolutely beautifully designed space with the most hospitable and accommodating hosts. The unit is designed to exactly fit the vibe of the city, rustic & bohemian but still feels luxurious & cozy. The apartment has a gorgeous skylight right above your bed so you wake up to the clouds & sunshine as your alarm clock. The bathroom is an organic feeling tub with a rain shower that’s incredible to wash off after the best beach days, and the hanging hammock is the coolest place to cool down & watch the sunset. Location is awesome, close to both the beach and cenotes as a solid halfway point. Again, the stay was beautiful but Andres & Scott were incredible hosts, super accommodating, always readily available, friendly, dedicated & passionate about the space & the well-being of their guests. Gladly extended our stay just to stay in this place longer, could not recommend this place enough & would stay in anything hosted by these 2 guys.

Very rude service at reception. When we arrived two days ago in the afternoon there was a young women sat there texting and ignoring us. She said hola when we walked in and we stood there with all our heavy bags, sweating while she ignored us for ages while she text. We tried to get her attention and she continued to ignore us for her phone. She eventually put her phone down to ask us for a name, for us to find out it was the wrong hotel anyway. Glad as the rude service put us off

Me and my partner stayed here during our visit to Tulum. We were both very excited to stay at the hotel but it was not as expected… for the price, one would expect to have clean sheets and a clean pool… the sheets had a blood stain in them and the pool was very murky. The towels also had stains and so did a couple of the pillows. I looked at the other pools ( we stayed in room 10) and they were very clear. The skylight shade was also broken as well as the light around the mirror did not work. No one came to clean our room (the garbages were emptied once and towels were replaced, but the bed was never made). You also have to use (WhatsApp) to communicate with the front desk and if you don’t have it you can not get a hold of them. I wish it was cleaner so we could have had a nicer stay… The bed was very comfy and the view was also very nice. The host also didn’t respond on Airbnb.

This is absolutely one of the best boutique hotels in Tulum city. It has everything: location, great design, awesome stuff, beautiful rooms. We stayed there for four nights in the room without the pool. Room was clean, spacious, well equipped. It has everything you need for quick vacations. The people working there are so nice, I wish every hotel had a same vibes. The location is perfect as you are walks away from the city, cafes and restaurants and also close to Zona hoteleira beach clubs. Esmeralda has plenty of parking space to park your car. Every morning they offer freshly squeezed juices at the reception and on Saturday they have Mezcal shots :)) Bed was very comfy and we slept very well at night, sometimes you can hear some noises from outside but that did not bother us at all, you are in Tulum :) Once again thank you for the great time and hospitality, we will definitely visit again in the future.

Me & my husband stayed here two nights in room 10, the penthouse room with the pool. We loved it. The a/c works quickly, but the windows also open fully for a nice outdoor breeze. The decor and aesthetics were beautiful. I’m sure that’s why most people book this hotel. But also, it’s tucked away from the main nightlife but still only a short walk away. We walked everywhere. There’s plenty of food options. The street food is what we like about staying near the locals. You can rent bikes anywhere but the hotel has them too. The pool in the room was the main reason we booked. After a long day we would come back and cool off. The pool was nice and cold, which we liked for the heat. Nobody bothered us while we were there. We’re pretty simple people and can’t complain about much.
