Watal Tulum Hotel - 77760 Tulum

Loved this hotel all the way. The room I stayed in was very well equipped, with a kitchen, dining room, super comfortable bed and a full bathroom. We never needed anything and when we needed help from the staff they would help you without problem and with great pleasure. The walks to the beach were really enjoyed since the area in which the hotel is located is super beautiful, because it even has its own cenote. I highly recommend it.

On the morning of the second day we were informed that one of the rooms in our place was not part of the reservation and that it was their mistake to leave his door open. As our things were already in this room as well and we thought it was very bad to only share a locked door with other guests (for obvious privacy reasons), we ended up booking this second room as well, which cost us 50% more than our initial booking. As the room was available and it was their mistake, we thought it was a bad way to charge us a normal price for a room that would only be used in part (and it wasn't even booked for the same days we would be staying). The place is very nice, but this idea of ​​sharing a door with other guests is terrible. Twice they entered our room without asking through the room cleaning sign. A lot of construction noise also bothers a lot.

This hotel didn't provide wifi, water and electricity. The only service I got were bad attention and ignorance. They didn't refund the room which no people can stay because I couldn't take shower, use restroom, watch TV!!!

My third trip to Tulum and I have previously stayed in the Aldea Zama neighborhood so I was pretty familiar with the location. I stayed at the Watal Hotel for the first time and was extremely pleased with my choice. The room we chose was a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom and could easily accommodate 5-6 people. The access to the pools and the gym was convenient and very user friendly. The ability to rent bikes was also very convenient as the hotel is situated right in the middle of downtown and the beach each about a 10-15 minute bike ride away. I would definitely be recommending this place to all my friends and family. Can’t wait to go back!

If I can select minus 5, I’ll definitely do it as this hotel keep lying during whole of my stay. 1. The accepted my reservation with 116 mm room. When I arrived, they said the room is not available anymore that they have to assign another ‘similar’ space room to me (1st lie). After checking in, I realized the room only has 74mm. I spoke with front desk who said he couldn’t do anything until their manager arrives by next morning. They said their manager will contact me which didn’t happen. (2nd lie) 2. The 74 mm room wifi wasn’t working and the TV doesn’t have smart and cable function. Basically, it is just a dummy screen. And the house was full of mosquitos. 3. The second morning I came to the front desk asking 116 mm room back which they did. However, they didn’t extend 74mm room check out which made me and my wife have to stay Starbucks from noon to 3:00 p.m. (bad service experience) 4. When we moved in 116 mm, the water, electricity and wifi were out of service at early morning. The front desk the ‘whole Tulum’ are having same issue which was a lie as II drove out and saw other restaurants and hotels all had water and electricity. (3rd lie) 5. So, I called the front desk who told me the services will be back at 3 p.m. which didn’t happen (4th lie) and they assigned another front desk told me the water, electricity and wifi service will be back at 5:00 p.m. which didn’t happen again (5th lie)! So, my wife and I were just back and forth between Starbucks and Watal hotel without going anywhere for 2 days. We couldn’t take shower, watch TV, work, use the private pool even not pee or poop! If this situation happens, the hotel should arrange alternative right away instead of keeping lie to customers.

The best way to experience the real Tulum!!! I am so happy to have choose this Hotel because it was exactly what I was looking for!!! Near everything by bike , the restaurant super delicious,the stuff so so kind ,trying to help you in any kind possible way to make my stay simply the most relax whit out worries! The space so huge, something like this in NY from where I am from would be a fortune!!! PS: the gym everything I need to keep up my body in shape! I am fanatic of fitness! When I will be back I will stay here again for sure!!!!

Rooms pretty small, you walk around the bed There is TV, but you couldn't watch any channnels, just listen to radio. There is a strong smell from the bathroom, we had to close the door every time, as the smell was I disgusting. You can't dry anyting anywhere at the hotel, not even the beach towels. Even there is fan and AC in the room, it's super humid, nothing is drying, my swimsuit started stincking overnight. Looks pretty from the outside, but after one night you start seeing the downside. They have two nice gardens though, and two pools where you can chill, but a lot of noise from the street

Hotel room was cute and clean. Shower and a nice mirror in the bathroom we’re both winners. Price was pretty good. Downside: Paper thin walls. I heard the staff sweeping in the morning, like the brushing of the broom on the floor. Heard the guy sneeze next door and his alarm. There was an odd moisture in the air even with the air conditioning on. I woke up in the morning and the clothing in my suitcase was slightly damp.
